"Only he is successful in his business who makes that pursuit which affords him the highest pleasure sustain him." Henry David Thoreau

Gordon Jones Jr., was graduated cum laude from Loyolla
College in Montreal, Canada in 1980 with a double major in Political Science
and International Law. Originally from Westford, Massachusetts, he relocated to
the West Coast, marketing high-end automobiles including Rolls Royce and
Lamborghini, and importing German luxury cars for the American market. In 1983,
he opted for a major change in scenery, moving to Florence, Italy and teaming
with an Italian design firm to manufacture and sell mannequins. Armed with his
international business experience, he returned to New England, becoming a
stockbroker for Kidder Peabody and obtaining his Series 7 License. While
working with his executive-level clients, he noticed that many did not have the
time to organize important business and leisure activities, and an idea was
born. |
| No stranger to change or new concepts, Gordon began setting up an
untested but visionary company called Concierge of Boston in 1989, charged with
'creating time' for those who haven't any. Having himself been a corporate
employee, Gordon realized the value of each minute of the work day, and
understood that the less time spent on the phone trying to get dinner
reservations, theatre tickets, or transportation, the more time spent being
productive. Concierge of Boston has enjoyed ten years of successful corporate
event planning and business support, earning an impressive client roster
through an excellent reputation, and spawning many imitators that have created
a virtual concierge industry. |
| Gordon's philosophy in business is that everyone deserves a fair
shake. That's why he extended the concept of executive-level support, ensuring
it was available not just to the Senior VP of Marketing, but also to the guy in
the mail room who wants to arrange a special evening on the town. Gordon is
well known to all levels within his client companies, and is sure to have a
mutual acquaintance, common interest, or unique idea to share. Though time is a
precious commodity, Gordon is quick to donate his own time on behalf of the
Anthony Spinazzola Festival of Food and Wine, the Massachusetts Chapter of the
American Red Cross, the Boston Ballet, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association
of Massachusetts. |
Despite all that keeps him busy, Gordon is still just a normal
guy. He's been known to scuba dive with wife Marcella for lobsters, win 'Long
Ball' in a local golf tournament, or spend the day with his wife and his
beloved Samoyed Jasper on his sloop in Boston Harbor. Equally happy at home in
Easton, you're just as likely to find him in the kitchen preparing something
from his own garden.
